Bayimba International Arts Festival is back

Bayimba International

The Bayimba International Festival of the Arts is one of Uganda’s number one annual Festivals because it offers exciting artistic experiences to all audiences; by presenting Uganda’s finest artists and upcoming talents from across the country and also by engaging as many Ugandans as possible, thus making the Festival unique in its own way.

This will be the 9th Edition of the Festival and it will take place at the National Theatre from Friday 16th September to Sunday 18th September. Bayimba International festival tickets are on sale at all PayWay kiosk outlets around the City. Find any PayWay kiosk, simply touch on the main menu and select Bayimba tickets and follow prompts to pay.

First batch of artists set to perform at the festival.

#Bayimba2016 features American wordsmith, rapper, poet AKUA NARU, who is also an advocate for creative expression for black women all over the world. She has performed around the world and she is currently on her African tour. South Africa’s vocal songbird Tribute Birdie Mboweni, who is known for her classical soul sound will also grace the event.

There will be some DOADOA – East African Performing Arts market alumni representing Kenya, while Uganda’s MoRoots, Magic Hornz and Exodus together with Kadongo Kamu legends Mathias Walukaga, Chris Evans, Ronald Mayinja and Irene Namubiru will also be there.

Smart ways to save money at the Bayimba International festival.

  1. Don’t drink beer. There will be lots of water and other juices that are sweeter than and cheaper than beer. Go for those instead.
  2. Don’t be so in a rush to pay for silent disco or other options that come at an extra cost, look out for free services. The best things in life are free, so go dance and have fun for free, even if it doesn’t include Silent Disco.
  3. Don’t come clad in the most expensive clothes. No one will be looking out for the best dressed people. This is a festival, expect to get dirty (you wouldn’t want to get dirty in your expensive clothes)
  4. Volunteer while you are at the event. You may be rewarded.
