Day Ones – Flex D’Paper
Flex D’Paper Interview
Flex D’Paper is continuing the work streak with some new music. He recently appeared on “Ting Badi Malo (The Re-Up)” with Khaligraph Jones and Chris Kantai and he hasn’t stopped there. Last weekend, he came through for the show with a new single called “Day Ones”.
“Day Ones” is a song that is meant to thank all the people that have supported Flex D’Paper from the beginning. It has a party vibe to it and features Martha Smallz on the chorus with Navio also dropping a verse on it.
The production was handled by Aethan with a sample from “Sunrise” by The Originals, a song that was sampled by Kanye West on Scarface’s Guess Who’s Back. It has some well-laid speaker-thumping drums and extra synthetic saw-like soundscapes that will definitely get you off your seat and onto the dancefloor.

Flex told us that he plans to release the “Kampala Boy” album this year. He also talked about how he’s changing the direction his music is taking to utilize the Afrobeat sound less than he has done in the past. From this, it seems highly likely that he’ll also explore deeper concepts and themes.
He also plans on putting out a wider range of products from his Rapaholix clothing line. He talked a little bit about the transition from the time when he was just starting out and had a lot of people doubting to a time when he now has a solid body of work out with more support.
Flex D’Paper has released a number of largely successful singles in the past including “Follow Me”, “More” and “Shutting Down Towns” and if he keep s up with that same spirit in 2016, he just might have one of his best years.
Listen to the track, download it and make sure you share it, especially with all your day ones.
