Last weekend, The Mith paid us a visit on the show and brought some new music with him, something that hadn’t been happening that often since the release of his sophomore album “Destination Africa” in 2014.
He premiered a new single called “Bust a Shot”, a love-themed song in which some dancehall elements have been incorporated and also features the rising Reggae/Dancehall artist Nutty Neithan. Produced by Josh SB, the song takes on a different structure with the verses being more energetic than the chorus.
The Mith lays some outstanding punch-lines and even goes ahead to reference on of Uganda’s younger and more popular female celebrities (you’ll know when you listen to the song) as early as the opening line of the first verse.
The song also has an impressive switch-up in the second verse that sparks an extra fire in The Mith’s delivery and is wrapped up by a couple of wild bars from Nutty Neithan. As we chatted, The Mith told us that Klear Kut has a finished album but didn’t elaborate on their next move as a group seeing as everyone is in a different space right now.
The Mith also told us that he won’t be releasing an album this year but he’s already thinking about one, saying that he is still swimming in a pool of numerous ideas but plans on releasing more singles as the year goes on.
Just to let you in on a few things you didn’t know about the longstanding rapper, The Mith has been involved in numerous charity campaigns including participation in cancer-related initiatives with Blu Flamingo, Tobacco-free Uganda campaigns and the Off the Ground project that involves donation of wheelchairs to PWDs.
He also used to play the position of prop for his high school’s rugby team but quit after dislocating his elbow. Returning to the music, go check out his new single and share it with the next person.
